Captain George W. Ramey was a pilot for Eastern Airlines for 32 years, starting his airline career in March of 1946, after his discharge from the USAAF after WW II. He began his flying career in 1940 as an Army Air Corps Cadet. He spent much of the war as a stateside flying instructor until his transfer to Alamogordo, NM, where he flight tested the prototype underwing blade radar antenna on B-29s to later be used in the Pacific Theater. Transferred to Guam in late 1944. He flew 9 missions to Japan until July, 1945. Awarded Air Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross.
