    Honored by:

During World War II, as a high school student, Henry A. Kuharic made model airplanes for the US Navy to be used for identification purposes by plane spotters. While editor of his high school year book he took his first airplane ride (a Piper Cub) in order to get aerial views of the school for the yearbook, and he vowed that he would someday be a pilot, which he achieved after he was 65 years old and retired.

He also assembled B-29s and B-17s at Boeing during school vacations and did medical evacuations by helicopter while in the medical corps.
