    Captain Howard O. "Bud" Jornod served as a bombardier on a B-17 - the "Flying Fortress" of WWII fame - completing twenty-five missions from his Norwich, England base. Born and bred in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Bud Jornod originally served his country as a member of the US Army. He was chosen to receive British Commando training in Scotland, and, upon his return to the United States instructed American troops in Commando techniques. While a member of the Army Air Corps, Mr. Jornod received the Distinguished Flying Cross with Oak Leaf Clusters. After his return the states, he served as a test pilot.
