Served during WW II as a Corporal in the Corps of Engineers, then graduated from pilot training and was a fighter pilot when the War ended, in 1945. I stayed in the Reserves and was recalled to active duty in 1951. I was sent to Korea as an Installation Officer. After that tour of duty, I was able to bring my family back to Japan. I returned home from there at the end of 1954 and received my discharge.
