Captain Joe Gerken began his career as a pilot for United Airlines on June 28, 1965. He flew as Co-Pilot on Douglas DC6 and DC7, Boeing B737 and B727; and as Captain on Boeing B737, B757, B767, and B747-400 aircraft. He retired July 21, 2002 at age 60.
