    Capt Boyer started flying and soloed in June 1955 at the Wakefield Flight School in Devils Lake, ND. He received his commercial pilot's license in May 1956 and worked in North Dakota and Mississippi as an agricultural spray pilot.

    He was hired by United Airlines in Feb 1957 and spent 35 years in the cockpits of United. He flew the DC-6/7, Convair 340, Caravel, DC-8, and was rated in the B-737, B-727, B-757, B-767, DC-10, B-747. He finished his career on the Boeing 747-400.
