    Honored by:

    Enlisted as a Naval Cadet on 24 December 1949. Primary training at Pensacola in SNJs, advanced training at Corpus in F8F Bearcats, jet training in F-80s and t-33s and All Weather Flight School ( instrument rating). Received Navy Wings of Gold on 18 July 1951 and assigned to VF-42 at NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach VA flying F4U-4 Corsairs. A few short cruises and one extended cruise on the USS midway to Mediterranean Sea. In late 1953, squadron switched to AD6 Skyraiders. Discharged from Navy in August 1954 with 108 carrier landings. Joined United Air Lines & flew 35 more years gaining 25,000 more flight hours.
