Born January 24, 1922 in Milwaukee, WI. Attended the
MILWAUKEE SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING. 1940-1942.
Drafted March 19, 1943, Assigned to the Army Air Corps. Joined the Aviation Cadet; Program May 1943. Graduated class 441 as a flight officer pilot November 20, 1944. Became a B-24 copilot 5th Army Air Corps, 43rd Bomb Group based on Ie Shima in the Pacific. After the war flew C-46s 317th Troop Carrier Group out of Tachikowa, Japan, flying to Korean, Okinawa and Manila. Left the service August 24, 1946. Instructed and flew charter flights out of MILWAUKEE, WI. Joined Capital Airlines January 29, 1951 as flight engineer and co-pilot. Checked out as captain April 27, 1957, merged with United Airlines 1961. Flew the DC-4, DC-6, DC-7, Constellation L1049, Viscount, B-727, and DC-10, Retired as Captain February 1, 1982. Returned as a DC-10 flight engineer retiring February 1, 1985.
