Capt. Jay Gross served as a navigator on the B-24 Liberator Bomber with the 8th Air Force, 458th Bombardment Group, 752nd Bombardment Squadron. He flew 30 bombing missions from RAF Horsham St Faith, England. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters.
