Jimmy R. Haynes always had a dream of flying. He began taking flying lessons in 1957 at age 17. He learned to fly in a Piper J-3 Cub and earned his private and commercial licenses within 2 years. Over the next few years, he worked as a crop duster and a helicopter pilot. All his dreams came true when, in 1966, he went to work for Delta airlines, and continued with them for 31 years. He flew Captain on the Boeing 727, 737, 757, 767, and the Lockheed L-1011 internationally. Jim always felt his flying skills and career were a gift from God, and he continues to be thankful to this day.
