    Born and raised in rural Missouri. Enlisted in U.S. Navy in 1970. Served aboard the
    Presidential Yacht Sequoia. 1978, earned B.S. in electrical engineering. 1980, earned "Wings of Gold" to become Naval Aviator. Flew the A-7 Corsair II,then the FA-18 Hornet. After nuclear school Turk commanded the USS Camden (AOE 2),USS John F. Kennedy(CV67),and the USS Theodore Roosevelt(CVN 71).
    Turk served as Chief of Staff for Commander,Naval Air Force,U.S. Atlantic Fleet as well. His final assignment was as Director,Cheyenne Mountain Directorate, where he was responsible for executing the NAADC integrated tactical warning and attack assessment mission, the Strategic Commands space and missile warning support.
    His love of aviation never waned even as his career took him down other roads.
    Turk had an incredible quality of leadership that made all who experienced it feel important in their role. Respect was a well-traveled two-way street in his life.
    Turks mantra was "Faith,Family,Friends". He served each of these with the same fervor he gave to the United States Navy. A true Patriot and a true defender of The Faith. Greatly missed and forever remembered.
