Born in Minneapolis, MN in 1934. Joined USAF in Nov. 1952, as an enlisted man. Entered Aviation Cadets (Class 55K) in 1954. Graduated as a second lieutenant in March 1955. Qualified in: PA-18 Super Cub, T-28, t-33, F-84E, F-84F. F-101 Voodoo, F-100D, T-38 Talon, T-34, L-19 and C-124. Retired in 1973, as a Major/Command Pilot. Served one year in Vietnam as an Airborne Forward Controller. Joined United Airlines in 1967. Type rated in B-737, B-747, B-757, and B-767. Retired in 1994 as an International Qualified Reserve Captain.
