    LeRoy O. Embry served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He began his aviation career as a flight instructor for Hawaiian School Of Aeronautics in Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii. He joined United Airlines in 1954 and was based at Midway and later at O'Hare Airport in Chicago, Illinois. His 33 plus years with United Airlines saw many changes. Throughout an aviation career he describes as "beyond all my dreams", he witnessed link trainer to flight simulator, low frequency ranges inertial navigation systems and propellers to jets, just to name a few.
    Capt. Embry was flying B-747's on the Pacific routes when he retired in 1988.
