    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:
    L. E. Da Harb

1a Lt. DaHarb was selected by the 4* Troop Carrier Squadron commander and the 62nd Troop Carrier Wing commander to have a crew along with a Major from the 8th Troop Carrier Squadron to represent the 62nd Troop Carrier Wing (C-124 aircraft] in the 1963 Military Air Transport Service's Computed Aerial Release Point competition. In other words dropping troops and cargo from the air. My crew was the youngest in the competition and I was the only 1st Lt. Aircraft Commander. My crew took 3rd place in individual crew competition and the two teams took 1st place in the overall competition.
Thanks to the many crew members and ground support personnel, and the Grace of God, I was able to complete 12 1/2 years of Air Force flying and 29 ½ years of United Airlines flying, over 20,000 hours of flying time, without injuring anyone or have an aircraft incident or accident
