Enlisted in the Naval Aviation Cadet Program in October, 1962. Received commission as an Ensign and earned wings in 1964. Flew as Patrol Plane Commander on P-3 Orion in VP-46 and Aircraft Commander on Convair 340/Sabreliner 40 in VR-30.
Joined Pan American World Airways in March, 1968 and flew Boeing 707. After furlough, flew Boeing 727 until the company closed its doors in 1991.
Joined United Airlines in 1992 and flew Boeing 727 and 747-400. Retired as Boeing 727 Captain in 2002.
