    MacDonald A. Bleser joined the Army Air Corps in 1943. He went to Officer Candidate School and eventually became a 1stLt in Troop Carrier, 9th Air Force. He flew the DC-3, flying leave troops to the French Riviera.

    Prior to that he "volunteered" to fly a glider in the Rhine crossing, for which he received the Air Medal.

    He returned to the US in December 1947 and started college under the GI Bill, graduating from the University of Denver in 1951.

    He started flying for United Airlines in 1951 and retired in 1984 when he was flying the Boeing 747.
