    Milt’s career actually began on May 17, 1948, his 16th birthday, when he soloed in a J3 Piper Cub on a little grass strip in Minocqua, WI. The bug had bitten and flying became an obsession.

    In 1954-1955 he was instructing at Curtiss-Wright Airport (now Timmerman Field). One of his students knew Capital Airlines President Carmichael (Slim) and suggested he apply there. Milt was hired March 3, 1956. His career encompassed many airplanes and friends. He began on a Douglas DC-3 and retired May 16, 1992 on a Boeing 747-400.
