    George began his flying career at the age of thirteen as an Air Explorer Scout flying a TG2A glider. He was hired by United Airlines in 1965 and trained on the DC6/7. Most of his airline flying was done in Seattle in the B727, B757 and B767. His final four years were spent on the B747-400 flying the Pacific out of San Francisco. George also built Pitt's Special Nl 1GC from a set of plans and spent several years doing IAC aerobatic competition.
