    Honored by:

    Served in the Naval Air Transport Service during WW II and Berlin Airlift. When released from active duty, service continued in the Naval Air Transport Reserve forces. Became Commanding Officer of Air Transport Squadron VR-772 at NAS Los Alamitos, CA. Served as CO when assigned duty in Viet Nam (1966) as well as during the missile attack and crisis in the Mediterranean theater (1967). Was promoted to Captain, USNR, in 1968 and transferred to the Retired List in 1986.
    Civilian occupation involved employment at North American Aviation, later becoming Rockwell Space Systems Division. Served in Engineering, Engineering Management and Senior Technical Specialist positions. Functional responsibilities existed in the areas of missile and spacecraft flight performance and trajectory design for ascent powered flight; orbit mechanics; entry flight performance and trajectory design; flight guidance systems requirements; ascent, propulsion, entry flight systems design requirements. Major programs supported included: Navaho, Hound Dog, Lunar Prospector, Apollo, Space Station, Space Shuttle. Also, participated in development of launch abort guidance requirements and design and astronaut abort flight techniques and procedures for Space Shuttle including astronaut simulator training and guidance systems development and verification. Retired July 1989 after 36 years of service.
