Capt. Foster Sturdevant began his life in Burlington, Colorado on December 14, 1917. He received his schooling in Colorado, ultimately earning his wings at the University of Colorado, Boulder, under the tutelage of United Airlines.
He began his flight career on May 17, 1941 at United Airlines. During the early years he flew with the Air Transport Command. His flight career encompassed flying the DC-3, DC-4, DC-6, DC-7, DC-10 and then B-747. He retired after 36 years of service with United Airlines.
