My interest in aviation started at an early age, when I build many balsa wood models. My chance to fly came when WW II happened. Joining the Air Corps, I became a pilot. The B-17 Flying Fortress was my weapon in combat. I completed thirty missions over enemy territory. I didn’t make flying my life’s work, but I will never lose interest in mans efforts to reach out beyond the bounds of earth.
