    Capt. Ralph A. Santasiero enlisted in the Army Air Corps as an Aviation Cadet June 1942, graduated flight training in Marianna Florida as a 2nd Lt. August 1943. Was assigned to the original 510th Fighter Squadron 405th Fighter Group as it was being formed. He flew 77 combat missions in P-47 Thunderbolts in the E.T.O. in the 9th Air Force. Was released from active duty as a reservist and was recalled to active duty in the U.S. Air Force as Capt. May 1951 and flew 100 combat missions in P-Sl Mustangs in Korea as Flight Commander in the 12th Fighter Squadron 18th Wing of the 5th Air Force.
    Participated in D Day flights on June 6 1944 Decorations include Distinguished Flying Cross and O.L.C. Air Medal with 15 O.L.Cs. Presidential Group Citation WWII Victory Medal and other medals of participation
