Ms. Joan Romano
My father, Raymond Haney, served in WW II in both the Pacific and in Iceland. After the War, he attended the University of Michigan and became a mechanical engineer. In the early 1960’s, he worked for Martin Marietta in developing rockets and eventually became a contracted employee to NASA at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. He worked in the vacuum testing division and worked on many satellites, as well as the early space shuttles. One of my early memories is standing next to him at Goddard and seeing Apollo land on the moon.
