In March 1954, I received my wings and was commissioned 2nd Lt. USMCR and assigned to jet transition in Kingsville, TX. From there I was sent to Edenton, NC where I was in VMA-225 and flew the AD Skyraider until my discharge in July 1956 I subsequently flew the F9F-6 in the reserves. My total military experience involved seven types of aircraft.

In July of 1956 I went with United Airlines and crewed on 11 types of aircraft. Most of my 36 years with United was spent in Los Angels. I retired in December of 1991 as a B-747 Captain.
