    Entered Naval Flight Training as a NavCad at Pensacola in 1955. After basic training in T-34, T-28 and SNJ, completed carrier qualification and advanced to PBM seaplanes.
    After commissioning, I returned to New York and married my wife, Jean. Served with VP-42 at Sangley Point, Philippines and San Diego until released from active duty.
    Received my BSEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and flew P2Vs with the Active Navy Reserve.
    Joined United Airlines in 1965, flying DC-6, DC-7, B-727, B-37, B-57, and B-67. Retired without incident as Captain in 1994.
