Ron Maines began his journey into aviation when he trained as a pilot in the United States Marine Corps in 1957. He served his country for five years including a combat tour in Vietnam as a Ch-46 helicopter pilot. He was promoted to Captain and left the service after flying over 1500 hours as a flight instructor and maintenance test pilot.
He flew for Mission Aviation Fellowship in Indonesia for eight years in single engine aircraft delivering people, medical supplies and livestock to the place in remote areas where they needed to go.
Ron was President of Redlands Aviation Corporation in California for four years, dramatically growing its flight and maintenance operations to serve customers in all parts of the world. Delivering aircraft across the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans to overseas locations, all this was accomplished without incident.
Over the years, Ron has stayed current as an all-weather pilot and has owned four aircraft of his own. His final aviation dream is to fly a single engine aircraft around the world to cap his thirty five year career that has spanned the globe and included over seven thousand hours as a professional and combat pilot.
