    Honored by:
    Mr. Walton D. Redick

Ron trained all primary and backup astronauts in the use of NASA's Apollo Lunar Surface Experiment Package (ALSEP). The experiments were designed and manufactured during 1965 to 1971 by gifted Bendix Aerospace Systems Division Engineers in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
After completing astronaut training for pressure suit operations, Ron managed the Bendix Human Factors Group in the design, testing, and evaluation of the Lunar Experiments for all lunar landings. Through continued evaluation in underwater and in-flight simulations of lunar conditions, plus flight crew briefings, Ron provided valuable guidance to the Bendix Design Team. This guidance enabled the team to ensure that all experiments conformed to the constraints of space suit operations on the perilous lunar surface.
His final contribution was to support the astronaut assigned as capsule communicator during real time operations to the moon from Mission Control at the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston, Texas.
Captain Redick considered it an honor to be part of the Apollo Flight Crews and the Bendix Design Team during the "Golden Sixties" of space flight.
