    Born Chicago, Illinois 1935, raised in the shadow of Midway Airport during the infancy of the airline industry. The year 1935 also witnessed the birth of the DC3 and the Pan American China Clipper.
    Naval Aviation Cadet (NAVCAD) program, class 3-56. Designated Naval Aviator May 1957, assigned to Patrol Squadron 28 stationed at NAS Barbers Point, on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii.
    After separation from the US Navy began the start of a 35 year flying career with United Air Lines, retiring August 1995 after a non-stop Trans-Pacific flight from Tokyo to New York.
