    Honored by:
    Mr. Scott D. Craig

Born on October 7, 1917 in Joplin Missouri, Capt. Teddie Otto Craig Jr. was a loving husband and father of two, a son and a daughter. After enlisting in the US Air Force, Teddy Craig went through flight school and found himself eventually flying mostly reconnaissance missions in the Pacific Theater of WWII. As a command pilot, Capt. Craig flew various planes including the C-130 and various bomber aircraft. In one interesting moment during his deployment in the Pacific, Capt. Craig sat down at lunch one day to find himself next to his younger brother, whom he wasn't aware was even stationed on the same island. He was also very proud that he was one of very few to bring his entire crew home from WWII. Capt. Craig loved to fly, to fish, and to play bass in several military bands for which he also wrote many songs. He left the Air Force in 1965 after an illustrious career and went on to work for Hughes Aircraft until his retirement. His grandchildren will always remember how Gramps taught them to dive into a swimming pool, to unlock puzzles without forcing them, and his reminders that sometimes younger grandchildren grow up to be taller than their older brothers.
