Developed and established the U.S. Army's Primary Instrument Training Area. This allowed both aircraft instrument training and GCA controller training.
Graduated from the U.S. Army's Accident Investigation course at USC.
Earned Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management from Troy State University
Was an Airplane Instructor for Napier Air Services in Dothan, Alabama from 1970 through January 1978. Chief Pilot from August 1974 through January 1978.
After leaving the U.S. Army was a DAC at Ft. Bragg working as a SFTS instructor.
After leaving the U.S. Army was in the Alabama Reserves at Ft. Rucker then transferred to the North Carolina National Guard in Raleigh North Carolina. While in the National Guard was a UH-1 Simulator Instructor, Standardization Pilot and Instrument Examiner.
Left Civil Service to work in the Oil Field as a Pilot with Offshore Helicopters
Worked in the North Sea, Africa, Australia, and Egypt with Bristow Ltd. as a line pilot, instructor pilot and assistant chief pilot.
Joined Era Helicopters in October of 1982 as a line pilot, then Director of Safety, Chief Pilot and Chief Pilot IFR.
Worked with the FAA in Washington, D.C. on ARAC's since 1989 working on the Weight and Balance AC, Flight and Duty regulations and the FAR Part 125135 rewrite ARC.
Member of the Helicopter Safety Advisory Conference since 1983. Helped established the GPS grid system used in the Gulf of Mexico and the associated private approach procedures.
