    Captain Thomas Mikita started his aviation career as a cadet in the Navy. He taught instrument flying in the BT-13 “Vultee Vibrator”, the SNJ, DGA Howard, Beech 18, and DC-3. He also flew as pilot-in-command for Admiral Martin.
    In 1950 he was hired by Roscoe Turner Airlines and flew Bonanzas. His commercial pilot career continued with Lake Central Airlines, Allegheny Airlines, and USAIR. He flew the DC-3, 580, DC-9, and retired on the Boeing 727 in 1981.
    His flying career has taken him from bi-planes to state of the art jets and he has enjoyed every minute of it.
