Born October 16, 1939. First solo October 7, 1960 at Bowling Green State University (Ohio) in a Tri-Pacer as a cadet in the Air Force ROTC. 5 years in the USAF and 33 years with United Airlines. In that time span accumulated 24,000 hours in the following aircraft T-37, T-33, C-124, DC-6, DC-8, B-727, B-737, B-757, and B-767.
