Having wanted to fly since childhood and drawing inspiration from his naval aviator uncle and his older brother Frank, who was a professional pilot, Timothy McBride started taking flying lessons in high school, learning his first skills on a grassy field called Lincoln Park near his hometown in Ridgewood, New Jersey. He made his first solo flight at age 17 from Lincoln Park. He secured his private license just before his college graduation in 1967.

Tim enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1967. He was accepted in the pilot training program, but a family conflict prevented him from pursuing the program. He completed his Air Force Officer Training School at Lackland AFB, and studied Avionics for 6 months in Colorado and Mississippi. He received his commission as a Second Lieutenant, and achieved the rank of Captain. He took a support role for various types of fighter jets and tactical missiles, managing both maintenance and logistics. He spent a year in the Air Force Tactical Air Command, repairing aerial photo reconnaissance equipment. Tim was honorably discharged in 1972.

Now a general aviation pilot, after restarting his flying career after a 20 year hiatus, Tim's flight missions these days includes pleasure trips and training so he can volunteer for organizations such as "Angel Flight", helping to transport individuals in remote locations to bigger cities for medical treatment; and "Pilots N Paws", helping to fly rescue animals from rural areas into more populated areas for adoption.

He's our favorite pilot and we are so proud to submit him to the Wall of Honor.
