    Vernon Lloyd Finzer was born April 13, 1914 in Sugar Creek, Tuscarawas County, Ohio the son of Edward George Finzer and Edith Ida Mary Menges. He married Mary Kathryn Burkey and they had two children, Melvern and Sharon. He was co-founder and manager of the Naper-Aero Club, a privately owned airport adjacent to the Aero Estates subdivision and a pilot with United Airlines for many years. He came to Naperville in 1949 and founded the B&F Sports and Hobby Center, a hobby shop in downtown Naperville. He operated the business with his father-in-law, Melvin Burkey when flying for United but sold the store in 1963. He was a member of the Quiet Birdmen, a flying organization; Airline Pilots Association; Naperville Country Club; Naperville Noon Lions Clubs, and First Congregational United Church of Christ. He was raised a Master Mason June 4, 1960 in Euclid Lodge. He died August 22, 1992 in Naperville, DuPage County, Illinois.
