    Accepted as Aviation Cadet in the U.S. Army Air Corps on December 9, 1941. Commenced pilot training mid-December, ’41 and graduated as pilot – 2Lt, Army Air Corps in June, 1942. Was ordered to be pilot instructor and served for one year plus at Minter Field, California, then to instructor at La Junta, Colorado A.C. Field for one year plus. I volunteered for combat duty and served overseas as a B-25 pilot in the 12th Air Force. I completed 17 missions from Rimill, Italy. The war ended, so I was unable to complete my missions. I was awarded the Air Medal with two Clusters.
