Born April 8, 1919 in Ayden, N.C. Joined the military in April 1941. Between December 1943 and April 1944 flew 29 missions over Europe in the B-17 with the 351st in the 8th Air Force. Was discharged as a 1st Lt. in June of 1945 and went to work as a co-pilot for Eastern Airlines.
Became a Captain in 1951. While a pilot for Eastern flew Martin 202 and 404, Douglas 3, 4, 6, 7 8; Convair 240, 340, 440; Lockheed 49, 188, 1011 and Boeing 727. Retired from Eastern April, 1979 on sixtieth birthday as required by federal law.

Resides in Ashburn Village, Virginia
