    Capt. William H. Raimer was born Jan 1, 1937 in Portage, Wisconsin where he graduated from high school. After 4 years of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, he joined the U.S. Air Force as an Aviation Cadet in 1958. Receiving his wings and commission on Mar 18, 1960, he went on the fly the F-86 and B-52. With the rank of Capt. And 2,000 hours flight time, he resigned his commission on June 30, 1966 and was employed by United Airlines 11 days later. In his 30 ½ years with United – most of it Seattle-based – he flew the DC-6, Caravelle, B-720, B-727, and DC-10 (B-727 and DC-10 as Capt.). He flew his final flight on Dec 31, 1996 and retired with 22,000 hours to battle Ground, Washington – his boyhood dream fulfilled beyond all hops and expectations.
