    Colonel Air Force Reserves for 20 years and Captain for 35 years with United Airlines. He had 32,000 hours in the air. He flew from Stearman Training to a B17, B24 and B29 in the Army Air Corps in World War II, from training to combat. His mission to Ploesti – the low level Tidal Wave, Aug. 1, 1943 earned him a DFC. Also on Weiner Neustadt a DFC flying a B24 with 389 BG, 8th A.F., on his plane “The Touch of Texas”. Both were flown out of Africa. In his squadron he is the only one that survived the War. He went from a DC3 to a 747. All together Air Force and Airlines, 17 different planes.
