    Honored by:

My career in aviation began both in the Chicago area and at the University of Illinois, while in Aeronautical Engineering, continuing through graduate school there. After obtaining the license/rating and an M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering, began employment at Douglas Aircraft, Santa Monica, CA. After almost 2 years, was hired by United Airlines in 1965. Began training in Denver, CO as 2nd Officer on DC6/7s; followed by DC8 later on. Next assignment was as 1st Officer (Copilot) on DC6 and Vickers Viscount. Later moved to DC8, B727, DC10, B747 over time. My initial captain promotion was on the DC8, then DC10, B747 and finally B747-400, from which I retired, after nearly 34 years on the line.
