    Air and Space Sponsor

    Honored by:
    Dorothee C. Miller

From an early age, William Miller wanted to share his enthusiasm for aviation. He cultivated this interest and as a young pilot, flew chartered landplanes and seaplanes carrying business executives. Later, at the age of 27, he joined TransWorld Airline – going on to become one of their best known captains on the international routes.
During the war he flew for Air Transport Command, carrying cargo and personnel on the challenging “hump” route over the Himalaya Mountains – for which he was later recognized with a Chinese medal. After retiring from TWA in 1968, he established his company, Aero International Inc., and others, advancing the market for leasing, buying and selling second-hand aircraft of all kinds.
As Captain Miller developed many friendly relations through these endeavors, his companies became the best known businesses of this type in the United States. He also became concerned with furthering the technical training of crews and was a generous benefactor of important centers in the United States established for this purpose.
Captain Miller was a member of numerous aviation organizations among them: the National Business Aviation Association, and the Aviation/Space Writers Association. He was also an Eagle member of the Wings Club.
