    Educated in public school system of San Angelo, Texas graduated San Angelo High School 1953
    Attended San Angelo Jr. College 1 year, Southern Methodist University 1year, graduated University of Texas at Austin 1962 with BBA in International Trade.
    Entered Active Duty service in the U. S. Navy Jan. 1955 as Electrician's Mate serving on minesweepers in Long Beach, California. Began flying career as NAVCAD in Pensacola, Fla. Jan. 1956 training in T34, T28, and SNJ aircraft in Primary Training and Grumman S2F in Advanced Training at NAS Kingsville, Texas.
    Awarded Naval Aviator Wings July 1957 and assigned to Anti-Submarine Squadron 37 at NAS Los Alamitos, California.
    Deployed aboard USS Yorktown on 1958-1959 deployment to the
    Far East.
    Discharged to civilian life Jan. 1960 to continue education at Univ. of Texas.
    Continued to fly with U. S. Naval Reserve in S2F. Returned to Active Duty with Airborne Early Warning Squadron 11 in July, 1962 and deployed aboard USS Ranger for the 1962-1963 Far East Cruise.
    Discharged again on June 1, 1964 and began employment with United Airlines.
    After initial New Hire training was assigned as a Second Officer on DC6 in Chicago. Later transferred to San Francisco and finally to Seattle
    in 1966. Assigned as Second Officer on DC8 for one year and as First Officer on B727 (11 years) and DC10 (7 years). Promoted to Captain on B727 in 1985 and to Captain on DC 10 in 1990. Retired from United on
    November 1, 1995.
    Total flight hours accumulated: 22,000, (2000 military and 20000 civilian).
