1953- Graduated from Schenley High School in Pittsburg.
1954- Joined the US Air Force in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.
1955- Aviation cadet in the USAF. Transferred from Lackland, Texas to James Conley in Fort Worth, Texas as a pre-cadet.
1955- Transfer back to Lackland, Texas as a pre-flight aviation cadet.
1956- Graduated from cadets as a second lieutenant. Later that month married Barbara Stout. (Married from 1956-1966)
1957- First child and first daughter Lori Nixon born.
1958- Transfer to Mather AFB to B36 school. Transfer to Fort Worth, Texas to a B36 11th bombing wing. Then back to Mather for B47 school.
Then moved to Plattsburgh flying as a B47 navigator bombardier.
1958- Second child and second daughter Rhonda is born.
1959- Early in the year became a first lieutenant.
1960- Third child and third daughter Nicki is born.
1966- Hired as the first African American pilot for United Airlines on the West Coast out of SFO.
1969- Married Heather Mary White
1973- Fourth child and only son George Nixon II born.
1974- Fifth child and fourth daughter Vanessa Nixon born.
1995- Retired from United Airlines.
2014- Took his last flight to heaven. 6/6/14.
