    Honored by:
    Mr. John William Morrison

As a young boy, Captain Morrison started out his aviation career in the late 1930's literally by living in the Burnham-Miller Flying Service Hangar in Omaha, Nebraska. Eventually he worked his way up to become a flight instructor where he met his future wife, Adele Jeppesen, who became an early member of the Ninety-Nines. In addition to flight instructing, Captain Morrison was a U.S. Air Mail Pilot and barnstormer. In 1940 he was hired at Transcontinental & Western Air, Inc. as a copilot in the DC-2. With the outbreak of World War II, Captain Morrison entered the Naval Air Transport Service. He received orders to NAS Olathe, Kansas as the Chief Flight Instructor for VR-3. After the war he continued his career with what would eventually become Trans World Airlines, becoming one of the first Captains to transition into the Boeing 707 from the Lockheed Constellation. Captain Morrison retired from TWA on May 14, 1975 with 35 years of service to the airline.
