    Captain Roy R. Buehler U.S. Navy (Retired) is a graduate, U.S. Naval Academy, Class of 1960. He was designated Naval Aviator No. V-19834 on April 13, 1963. He graduated from the U.S. Navy Test Pilot School, Class 46 in June 1967.

    He flew the initial sea trials of the F-111B (BuNo. 151974) aboard the USS Coral Sea, CVA 43, on July 22,1968. He was named in Outstanding Young Men of America for 1969. He served as the Naval Air (NAVAIR) desk for the F-14A (Tomcat) development and testing from January 1973 to March 1975 and as development, test, and evaluation (DT&E) program manager for F/A development at the Naval Air Test Center, July 1977 to June 1980. He served as NAVAIR A6 / EA6 Program Manager, July 1984 to September 1987.

    He had carrier operational experience in F-8 Crusader and F-4 Phantom fighters and test pilot experience in most other Navy jet and propeller-powered carrier aircraft of the period through the F/A-18A.

    He holds commercial single and multi-engine Instrument Certificate No. 1555177. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in naval science, a Master's degree in aero-engineering, and a master's degree in management.
