William Warren Phelps May 19, 1926 – December 6, 2007
Bill Phelps was sixteen when he soloed under the guidance of his father. It was a birthday surprise for his mother.
Bill joined the Navy in 1943 and served in both the Atlantic and Pacific campaigns.
He was a senior pilot with Capital and United Airlines, transported troops in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of EAA for over fifty years, built his first plane, “LiL Spitfire”, renovated two others, entered in several competitions, and received many trophies. God, flight and love of others was his life.
We dearly and lovingly honor Bill Phelps and his many accomplishments. We surly know he is now flying with God’s Holy Angels.
