    Captain Willis "Sonny" Logan started his flying career in 1939 by polishing "Tex" Rankin's Ryan ST for four hours to get a 15-minute ride in Amarillo, Texas. By making straight As in school he earned a 30-minute ride in a Ford Tri-motor. He earned a glider pilot's rating before he had a driver's license. In order to build flying time, Sonny flew everything he could in West Texas including "Boot Legging" and crop dusting.

    Captain Logan entered the U.S. Air Force and graduated in Aviation Cadet class 51-A. He served in Korea flying a B-29 and was later assigned to the Strategic Air Command. While in the Air Force, Captain Logan flew the T-6, T-28, T-33, F-80, F-86, B-25, B-29, B-50, C-45, C-47 and C-54.

    Captain Logan became an airline pilot with Trans World Airlines (TWA) flying the Martin 202, 404, DC-6, Constellation 049 through 1049G. He later flew for Trans-Texas Airways, Texas International, and Continental Airlines. He holds an Air Transport Rating including a DC-3, Convair 240, 340, 440, 600, 640 and DC-9. He has over 35,000 flying hours.

    While flying for Continental Airlines, Captain Logan attended law school during his time off and practiced Family Law in Dallas, Texas until he retired. He is a Colonel in the Confederate Air Force, a member of the Doolittle Squadron, the Quiet Birdmen, the Air Line Pilots Association and the Continental Golden Contrails.

    Captain Logan has built and flown four experimental airplanes and is a Technical Counselor and Chapter President for the Experimental Aircraft Association. His personal aircraft included a Piper J3 Cub, PA 18 SuperCub, PA20 Pacer, PA28 Cherokee, Cessna 120, 140, 150, 170B, 177B, 180, 310J, 310R, Mooney M20-E, Beech 19A Musketeer, and Bonanza 35.

    His flying history was documented in an Autobiography completed in 1996.
