Carl Olsson was a Chief Warrant Officer who served in the U. S. Army Air Corp during World War II. He ferried combat aircraft from the U. S, to Europe via Brazil and Africa. Then, he served in the Pacific Theatre flying cargo over "The Hump". He and his crew had to bail out of a C-46 that had iced up over the mountains. He hung from a tree all night and was rescued by forces of the Chinese Army in the morning.
