A pioneer in the aviation profession, graduating from the Curtis School of Aviation in 1916. Was a proficient glider pilot in the early 1900's and exhibition pilot in the years before becoming a Captain in the Army Air Service in 1918.
Served until 1923 when he left the service and began his career in operating various air events. He was an official in the Cleveland Air Races, Birmingham Air Carnival and was the operating officer for the Miami All American Maneuvers.
He was an expert in the maintenance of the QX5 engines.
