    1939-40 - Received Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) Mechanics Certificate with Airframe and Engine Rating and received certificate as Ground Instructor for Airframe and Engine Rating; mechanic in Engine Overhaul shop and at G. L. Martin factory
    1940-44 - Instructed A&E subjects at Stewart Tech and for TWA and mechanic for TWA
    1944-46 - US Marine Corps as Crew Chief on B-26 Aircraft
    1946-48 - Superintendent of Maintenance for Brunning Airways (irregular air carrier)
    1948-1980 - Inspector for CAA/FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) with Aviation Safety duties:
    • issuance of air worthiness certificates for aircraft,
    • issuance of certificates of competency to mechanics, schools, repair stations and air carriers;
    • developed policy and directed the operations of maintenance inspections in the field from headquarters in Washington, DC;
    • attended Air War College for the academic year of 1962-63, followed by assignment as Asst. Division Chief of Flight Standards in Honolulu for coordination with military during Vietnam conflict;
    • directly involved in the development of the Amateur-Built aircraft certification program and coordinated FAA's activity with Sport Aviation.
    1980-date - Senior Washington Representative for the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) continuing the coordination of Amateur-Built Aircraft, antique aircraft, aerobatics and Ultralight aircraft and War Birds with government agencies and other industry associations within the aviation community.
    Received Distinguished Career Service Award from FAA
    Recognized for sustained Superior Performance by both FAA and EAA on numerous occasions
    Received the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award from FAA in 1994 for more than 50 years of dedication and professionalism in the field of aviation.
