    Born December 17, 1948, CDR Barton P. Anderson has served his country in the air and - space industry since he earned his private pilot license 43 years ago. After receiving his commission as Ensign in the US Navy in 1970, he earned his wings and was awarded top naval flight student, deployed four times to the western Pacific, Indian Ocean and Mediterranean, then completed USN Test Pilot School and the rotary wing flight" dynamics course. CDR Anderson earned a Masters in Aeronautical Engineering (Avionics) in 1984 and later served as Director of Engineering, Quality and Operations in " Pensacola, Florida. Moving to Washington DC, CDR Anderson completed his military career at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command as the Deputy Program Manager for a large surveillance radar program with operations in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. CDR Anderson retired in 1990 after 20 years of naval service, and he has gone on to serve as a senior executive of six businesses, mostly in the aerospace industry, including management of manufacturing plants ranging in size from 30 to 3,400 employees and engineering programs in communications, aerospace, RDT&E, data systems, and nuclear environmental projects. CDR Anderson's life can best be described as serving the God he truly believes is the Lord and Creator of all air and space. He has sought to bring truth, love, and kindness to all he has inspired along the way. He is celebrated today for his 60 great years by his adoring wife, three children, and eight grandchildren.
